Hi! I'm Charlotte, the artist behind Drawn by Charly. I’m a full time, passionate pet portrait artist specialising in coloured pencils, based in South Wales!

I work with high-quality coloured pencils such as Faber Castell Polychromos and Caran D'Ache Luminance and Pablo's. These tools allow me to achieve a great level of detail and depth in my portraits. I typically use Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed Watercolour paper for its surface and ability to hold multiple layers of pencil.

I typically dedicate anywhere between 25-45 hours to each portrait, in order to bring as much realism to the portrait as possible.

I picked the pencils back up in 2021 after a long break, to distract me from my corporate life at the time. As a young girl, I would draw every animal you could imagine, mainly horses (possibly a slight obsession). To be able to draw your pets full time, is a dream come true.
